FAUX LEATHER
Abbey Fabrics is the distributor of Axiom
Leather for the UK and European markets. The company
has now developed Axiom Leather to previously unachieved technological
standards. This fabric is softer, stronger, harder wearing and more
technically advanced, providing an aesthetically appealing, durable,
hygienic and low-maintenance alternative to real leather and suede.
Applications
Axiom Leather fabrics are used for upholstery and trims in a wide variety
of settings. Applications include contract furniture (offices and retail
outlets), hospitality (hotels, motels, restaurants and cafes), healthcare
(hospitals, doctors’ surgeries and dental clinics), transportation
(truck and car seating, bus stations, ferry terminals and airports),
and marine (seating and dashboards in power-boats, yachts and ocean-going
cruise liners).
Finish
and appearance
Axiom Leather has been developed to mirror the look and feel of fine
calf skin, but with a much higher performance than that of animal skin.
Available in an extensive choice of colours, textures and finishes,
Axiom Leather is highly suitable for a very wide variety of applications.
It represent an animal-friendly alternative to leather that sets new
standards of aesthetics, performance, convenience and luxury.

Technical
data
Axiom Leather has an abrasion rating of 1,000,000 double rubs using
the Wyzenbeek test, and is fire-rated to BS 5852 Crib Source 5 and IMO
Resolution A652 (16) Sources 0 & 1. Axiom Leather is also treated
to meet CAA standards.

Installation
and maintenance
Axiom Leather is easy to maintain and can be cleaned with a mild detergent
for most stains including blood, suntan oil, makeup, urine, red wine
and coffee. For more stubborn stains, a mild solvent can be used and
then washed off, or a 5:1 bleach solution can be used and then rinsed
off.

Axiom Leather has been used in a variety of applications for clients
and projects including the Oxo Tower, Harrods, Princess Marine, RAF,
USAF, JorAmCo, the NHS and the contract furnishing industry.
